Rembrandt’s Toilet Humor
The courtyard of the Rembrandts house has been decorated and you can now see what it looked like in the 17th century. There was also a ‘secret’ in his courtyard, or what we now call a toilet or toilet. This also confirms that even icons and heroes simply went to the toilet. Only a tear-off calendar is missing and that is the goal of this evening! Creating a new tear-off calendar together! Bring your sense of humor and help write or sign this important document!
Pub quiz: theater and music
Do you think you understand music and theatre? Take the Allard Pierson Pub Quiz. From 17th century sheet music to 21st century digital streams, and from masks and costumes to puppets and miniature theatres; everything from the ‘history of the performing arts’ collection can be reviewed. You can participate as a team or individually.
Video diary of Anne Frank
You may have heard of it, or seen parts of it: Anne Frank’s video diary. During the Museum Night, they will play all 18 episodes of the video diary one after the other on a large screen in the Anne Frank House. That’s unique! You can join in and watch briefly or continue to binge watch a little longer. In the Anne Frank video diary you follow Anne Frank from 29 March 1944. She is 14 years old and has been in hiding for over a year and a half, together with her parents Otto and Edith, sister Margot, Auguste and Hermann van Pels, their son Peter and Fritz Pfeffer . Anne films herself and the events in the Secret Annex, looks back on the time before going into hiding and talks about the war.
Origami workshop
Bring your paper fantasies to life at the origami workshop table in the museum. Inspired by the artist Yoshihiro Watanabe, who creates an army of small creatures from oak leaves, you make your own creation.
